asphalt drive aprons
Asphalt drives are typically 2-4″ of Surface Course asphalt. Occasionally drives are composed of 2 lifts, intermediate and surface mixes, but primarily they are simply surface course only, if only small vehicle loads are expected. Reduced asphalt placement productivity can be expected for driveways compared to roads or parking lots as the areas are typically smaller and tighter, and often require placement with backhoes, front loaders, and hand raking. Asphalt drives are commonly compacted with small rollers or plate tamp compactors. Asphalt drives typically require fewer manpower and equipment resources than asphalt roads or parking lots.
