final cleanup

Final cleanup is often required in the contract by many architect and project owners for building construction. This will typically consist of sweeping, mopping, removing all trash, cleaning windows and mirrors, wiping down all painted and plastic surfaces, etc. It’s typically not an extensive cost, but one that is sometimes overlooked in the hustle and bustle of estimating construction. It is often bid by the room or the square foot of building area.

The final cleanup crew often finds itself in contention with the construction tradesmen by the condition left requiring the performance of cleaning activities that should have been handled by each respective trade (removing excess construction waste material, cleaning spattered paint, etc). Final cleanup is typically performed by a separate company specializing in cleaning.
