I realize this is situational and based on certain variables, bucket size, dump site proximity, truck size, traffic to dump site. But I guess I'm just looking for a rough range of how many trucks will be needed when digging for a road. Based on each of the following situations, can a pro tell me how many trucks he/she would have ready?
1.5 cubic yard bucket (5' wide), average 20" depth cut, hour round trips to dump site, quad axle trucks capable of 11 cubic yard loads. How many trucks and what kind of hourly dirt moving can I expect?
2 cubic yard bucket (6' wide), average 24" depth cut, 35 minute round trip to dump site, quint axle trucks capable of 16 cubic yard loads.
